A Sky-Scape Through Time
By Ingrid Muñoz
Isn't it funny, how the star that is literally in all our backyards,
is the one we have the most trouble looking at?
8 minutes away, at the speed of light.
But in turn, we are all given the gift of night, of darkness,
to shed a different light on the canvas above.
Stars to equal grains of sand.
More than we could count together in a lifetime, stars so far away,
they are living and dying long before we see it happen.
Time is an illusion, they say.
The nocturnal artist paints for each of us a different sky-scape each night,
to remind us of so many things, awesome and perplexing.
What is it telling you tonight?
