Pesach
By Niall Twohig
At this seder
students become the Pesach story.
They take spilt blood,
spread it across the threshold of history
so that the death planes pass over Palestine,
so that the child in the rubble may live.
These students feed each other—
a true feeding,
not the hollow food
that leaves us hungry,
not the poison food
that leaves us sick.
And you, who see their image,
may it feed you the holy nutrients
that feed these students
as they stand whole against
the unholiness of man.
