Golden Sea

By Niall Twohig

A vision

I saw Da floating atop a golden sea. Life was still in him.

He floated, as he once taught me to float: reclined and calm enough to be weightless.

He then dipped below the waters, for a moment fully submerged.

What re-emerged was an empty vessel. His Life was no longer in his body. It was in the golden sea.

What I was certain of was this:

The essence that was Da had flowed into the Sea.

The Sea itself was changed by that infusion of Love into Love.

Da was not lost. His waters flow through those waters still.

Perhaps this is how Love flows:

Love pours itself into a vessel so that it learns to love in a different way than it has ever loved. Love’s waters are changed in each cup. Like water to wine. And the cup pours its unique elixir back into the Whole.

We become ourselves through Love. Love becomes Itself through us.

And, when our loved ones pass, they pass into Love.

We find them in Love.
