Art Flowers
By Niall Twohig
Art flowers –
It is not the product of an artist in isolation.
It is shaped by the soil from which the artist grows,
by the weather, the motion, the commotion of the times,
by the artist’s roots that charge her with energy,
by an old code encoded deep in every fibre
that knows how to grow to
that moment
when, ripened by conditions,
atoms come together, collect,
on the point of a pen,
on the tip of a tongue,
at the point of a pick,
to form a flower
that alters the very landscape
from which it was born.
